Privacy

Heard of You is currently a lightweight public beta. The main journal experience saves memories in your browser on your device.

Questions can be sent to contact@heardofyou.org.

What the app stores

  • Memory notes, contributor names, prompts, and chapters are stored in your browser's local storage.
  • Spotify session data is stored locally so the app can keep you signed in between refreshes.
  • If you clear browser storage, switch browsers, or switch devices, your saved memories may no longer be available there.

Music service data

  • If you connect Spotify, Heard of You uses Spotify to authenticate you, search tracks, preview tracks, and create or update playlists you request.
  • If you connect Apple Music, Heard of You uses Apple's MusicKit flow to authorize catalog search inside the app.
  • Heard of You does not ask for your Spotify or Apple Music password.
  • Spotify and Apple Music data are both governed by their own platform policies in addition to this page.

What Heard of You does not do right now

  • It does not currently offer personal accounts for Heard of You itself.
  • It does not currently provide cross-device cloud sync for journal entries.
  • It does not currently guarantee recovery of deleted or cleared local data.
